Birth of a Child – Poem by Susan Murray

I feel the child growing inside,

My figure I can no longer hide.

My clothes are too tight,

My back aches day and night.

The months have passed by,

I wait in anticipation and cry.

The day finally is here,

I scream out and cheer.

I go to the hospital,

I go through the wait.

I push, and I pant,

I scream out I just can’t.

The time is mid morn,

The baby is born.

I look at my baby and see if she is alright,

I thank the lord for blessing me right.
