A Book Signing Opportunity 2017
Well, Authors, it’s that time of year again!
Boy Scout Troop #40 invites local authors to a book signing in support of the Boy Scouts’ 2017 activities. The book signing will take place in conjunction with their Spaghetti Dinner and Basket Raffle.
Date: Sunday, January 29, 2017
Time: Noon – 6:00 pm
Location: Wrights Corners Fire Hall
4043 Lake Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094
Authors are asked to participate in the event either by buying a dinner ticket ($8 each) or by donating to the fundraiser or by donating a basket. We ask participating authors to be present for at least three hours of the session.
This is a great opportunity to meet your market, interact with customers, get ideas for future writing, sell books, and more! Several hundred people have attended past dinners, making this event successful for the scouts and for the authors.
We expect to have several 8’ tables for our use, with two authors per table. Press releases will be sent to local newspapers and placed on social media.
In addition to the book signing there will be a basket raffle, and entertainment by Reunion, a country group. The Boy Scouts also invite basket donations.
Each author is responsible for their own sales, making change, collecting/remitting sales taxes, etc.
We ask each participating author to do publicity about the signing, on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, website, blog, etc, and mention the book signing to your friends and family and at any writers group meetings you might attend.
